New Indian vy deputy chief takes over

New Delhi, June 6: Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar on Monday assumed charge as the Deputy Chief of val Staff .

An alumnus of tiol Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, Pune, he was commissioned into the Executive Branch in July 1982.

Specialising in vigation and direction, Ashok Kumar has served as the vigating officer of Indian val Ships Beas, Nilgiri, Ranvir and Vikrant.

He has also been the commanding officer of INS Kulish and Ranvir, and executive officer onboard INS Brahmaputra. (IANS)
