KOKRAJHAR, May 6: A new monthly journal Gambari, published by Bodo Women Writers’ Association (BWWA) was formally released by former president of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) on Sunday at a function of the association at Kanthalguri, Titaguri near Kokrajhar.  A meeting of the Bodo women writers was also held with Uttara Bwiswmuthiary, president of the association, in the chair. The aims and objectives of the Bodo women writers were elaborated by the secretary of the association, Dhirju Jyati Basumatary. The meeting was also addressed by former Lok Sabha MP Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary and renowned artiste Tikendrajit Narzary alias Jalako and Sahitya Akademi Award winner and noted writer Anjuli Basumatary.

In his address, former president of the BSS, Brajendra Kr. Brahma said the task of creative writing was not easy and writing poems was more critical. He said poems had separate character and a poet tried to reflect the inner thinking of his mind with short description. He also quoted former noted writers saying that the poem was the first creation, before essay or story or novel. He hoped that the new journal would cater to the need of Bodo women and would give an opportunity to new writers. The new journal has articles, poems, discussions, critiques, short stories and other analytical articles. Noted writer Anjuli Basumatary is the chairperson of the new journal while Jwishree Boro, Youth Sahitya Akademi award winner is the editor-in-chief.
