New Office Building of Forest Department Inaugurated in Hailakandi

Hailakandi: The new district office building of the Forest Department was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli on Friday. As the model code of conduct (MCC) is in force for the Lok Sabha elections, there was no official function held to mark the occasion. Jalli opened the new district office in the presence of Divisional Forest Officer, NH Mazumder and other officials of the district administration and the Forest Department. Though approval for the new office building was accorded almost five years ago, it could not come up due to various reasons. It was only after Mazumder joined, the pace of construction work accelerated thus eventually leading to its inauguration.
