New office of District Council Court inaugurated

SHILLONG, April 13: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council KHADC) PN Syiem on Friday inaugurated the new office of the District Council Court.

The office was inaugurated in the presence of Judge of the District Council Court, S Kharsyiemlieh, Executive Members, MDCs beside others.

Addressing the gathering after the inauguration, the CEM said, “In my leadership the KHADC put forward the need to serve the public and to provide improved infrastructure to the District Council Court.” He also lauded the cooperation of other MDCs in the process of completing the building which will ultimately serve the interest of the people. Syiem informed that the Council will soon submit a letter to the High Court to seek clarification on the intension of the KHADC to appoint two more magistrates in the District Council Court.
