Nine more nomination filing for Mangaldai takes place on last day

MANGALDAI: With the filing of nine more nomination papers on the last day of filing nomination papers for No. 8 Mangaldai HPC on Tuesday, the total number of nomination papers submitted before the Returning Officer here has gone up to 13. The nine candidates who submitted their nomination papers today are Jayanta Kumar Kalita (independent), Mani Ram Basumatary (Hindustan Nirman Dal), Gandheswar Mosahary (Voters Party International), Bhupen Chandra Das (Purbanchal Janata Party Secular), Ainul Hoque (Asom Jana Morcha), Swarna lata Chaliha (SUCI), Kazi Nekib Ahmed (Independent), Sudhendu Mohan Talukdar (Trinamool Congress) and Ratul Ahmed (Republican Party of India (A). On Monday, Congress candidate Bhubaneswar Kalita, BJP’s Dilip Saikia, UPPL’s Pradip Kumar Daimary and Biren Basak of Bharatiya Gana Parishad had submitted their nomination papers.
