Nityananda Mahanta Deva of historic Budbari Xatra no more

Joysagar: The Xatradhikar of historic Budbari Xatra situated on the bank of the Dikhow River of Nazira sub-division Sri Sri Nityananda Mahanta Deva (88) passed away on January 15. The Budbari Xatra was erected in the days of the spiritual renascence of Assam by Sri Sri Gopal Atta Probhu; the famous pupil of Srimanta Shankardeva. Sri Sri Nityananda Mahantadeva was the ninth generation xatradhikar of the same. Mahantadeva was also a noted social reformer and educationist of Sivasagar District.
