No compromise with NRC update, warns State BJP

GAON, April 21: “We, the people of Assam, should be more alert so that the mes of foreigners cannot be included in NRC,” said BJP State president Siddhartha Bhattacharyya while addressing media persons at Samaguri in gaon district on Tuesday.

Bhattacharyya said that earlier some groups had conspired to stop the NRC update process. He referred to the incident in Barpeta district where some groups allegedly conspired to stop the NRC update work due to which the entire project was stopped. “But this time we will not provide any chance to those groups to interrupt the process.  Even the government should take strict measures to stop these groups,” he added. “There should be no compromise in the NRC update process and it must be completed within the stipulated time,” said Bhattacharyya. He also appealed to people to be alert and conscious.
