Cash-for-job scam in APSC

GUWAHATI, June 22: Dibrugarh Police investigating the cash-for-job scam in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) seems set to delve deep into the scam with the Court of Special Judge, Assam giving its nod for face-to-face grilling of the accused now in judicial custody and former APSC chairman Rakesh Paul. Making no delay, the investigators have already started the grilling of some of the accused in the Central Jail, Guwahati later in the day.

Dibrugarh police did seek permission from the court to allow it to grill the accused in the cash-for-job scam in the APSC face-to-face with Rakesh Paul. Hearing its plea on the prayer on Friday, the court allowed the investigators to go for face-to-face grilling of the former APSC chief and other accused in the scam.

Meanwhile, the Guwahati Police on Friday prayed before the Special Court, Assam to grant it grilling of former APSC member Basanta Doley now in judicial custody and former APSC chairman Rakesh Paul in connection with the appointment scam of agricultural development officers in the State.
