NPP mes Conrad for Tura by-poll

SHILLONG, April 22: tiol People’s Party (NPP) president Conrad K Sangma, a former Meghalaya minister and youngest son of late PA Sangma, will contest the by-poll for Tura Lok Sabha seat, scheduled on May 19.
Conrad K Sangma had taken over the reign of the party as its tiol president after the demise of his father last month. Conrad will file his nomition on April 27.
He is scheduled to launch his campaign from North Garo Hills either on April 25 or April 28. His campaign will be in consonce with his father’s principle to start from the erstwhile East Garo Hills district which is now bifurcated.
It has been learnt that his sister Agatha K Sangma, a former union minister, his elder brother James K Sangma will be part of the campaign. He will take on Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma’s wife
Dikkanchi D. Shira, a sitting legislator from Mahendraganj.
Political alysts say that Conrad has two major tasks to accomplish- to carry on the legacy of his late father and fulfill his uccomplished dreams; and to win over the hearts of the tribals across the country.
Meanwhile sources from Garo Hills say that the process of electioneering suddenly took off in a span of one day. Besides the public, the officials have hastened up the process to ensure that the poll goes smoothly.
