Silchar: All India United Democratic Front’s (AIUDF) supremo and perfume baron Maulana Badruddin Ajmal at Cachar District Committee workers’ meet held at Gandhi Bhawan in Silchar on Thursday evening said that AIUDF does not want any foreigner to be included in the final NRC list which is going to be published in the month of December 2018. “It will be sinful and immoral in the eyes of Islam if foreigners are included in the list. It may also jeopardize the safety of the people and security of the country. Similarly, no legal and genuine Indian citizen should be left out from the list,” he added.

Badruddin Ajmal cleared his party’s stand and said that AIUDF would not stand by those who have come after March 24, 1971. He urged upon all not to panic and maintain peace and harmony. “The intelligentsia of Assam should come forward to help the 40 lakh who have been left out from the second draft list of NRC. The NRC, once completed, will wipe off the label of being a ‘Bangladeshi’,” said the perfume baron. Later, interacting with the media at Circuit House, Ajmal said, “It is just a draft. There is nothing to worry about it. Lets us wait and watch for the final NRC list.”
