Numaligarh Refinery Limited Promotes Fuel Conservation

GUWAHATI: Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) joined in the countrywide SAKSHAM (Sanrakshan Kshamata Mahotsav) 2019 campaign, spearheaded by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India which was observed from January 16 to February 15.

Propagated to create awareness on fuel conservation through people centric activities and to sensitize the masses about the efficient utilization of petroleum products for better health and environment, this campaign drew active participation from various other Oil & Gas PSUs along with State Governments alike, stated a press release.

Various activities were undertaken across the company and its neighbouring areas during this month-long campaign laying greater emphasis on students, household helpers, drivers, fleet operators along with its employees for better propagation of the cause. At the very onset of the campaign, MD NRL S K Barua shared his message for SAKSHAM 2019 with all employees, urging them to actively participate in the initiative.

Starting the campaign with the conservation pledge being administered by employees across the company, quiz competition & various awareness drives were conducted throughout the refinery units whereas street plays were organised in nearby market places and extempore cum quiz competitions in schools nearby the Refinery at Numaligarh.
