NAHARLAGUN: The Nyishi Baptist Church Council (NBCC) launched its first movement of clean election for the year 2019. According to NBCC the movement has begun way back in the year 2014 and today it has been formally launched.

Professor of Political science department of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) Nani Bath who was addressing the gathering as special invitee appreciated the move by the NBCC in clean election movement and also appreciated the Catholic association of Arunachal who on 14 of August this year has started their corruption free campaign. He said that this movement should be supported by all including all religious groups and denomination. Professor bath also stressed that corruption is the part of a society but one should ensure certain model conduct. He also said that all the Christians should united raise this issue not confining in one denomination. Many other religious leaders from denomination like Pentecostal, Catholics were present. Arunachal Christian forum General Secretary Toko Teki also spoke on the occasion.

Citing example of the role of church of Mizoram's Teki said that, general election of last tenure at Mizoram was a very clean and no money was involved.

“This is the reason why today Mizoram is the corruption free state with all the infrastructural development, social harmony and many others which our people should also act onto it,” he added.
