Ganesh Bahadur Chetri

Ganesh Bahadur Chetri, a leading social worker of Tangla area in Udalguri district, breathed his last at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital on February 17 after prolonged illness. He was 55. He was associated with a good number of social organizations of Tangla area, including Bihu Sanmilani, Gorkha Sammelan and All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU) since long. He was president of Tangla anchalik committee of Assam Gorkha Sammelan, former president of Duliapara Durga Puja Samiti and senior assistant teacher of Puroni Tangla High School. His demise was widely condoled in Tangla and Udalguri town. He leaves behind his wife, three daughters and a host of relatives.
