Octogenarian citizens felicitated at Rongali Bihu organized by Dibaru Sahitya Sanskriti Jana Mancha

Dibrugarh: Dibaru Sahitya Sanskriti Jana Mancha, a noted cultural, social and literary organization, observed Rongali Bihu and at the same time felicitated octogenarian citizens and also one above 90 years by paying personal visits to each one of them.

The recipients were Nurul Huda (99 years old), Laduram Todi (90 years), Gita Borah (89 years), Rabindra Majumdar (87 years old), Dr.Suganchand Jain (86 years old) and Parul Manna (85 years old). All these citizens were earlier actively involved with the promotion of art and culture or social work. They were offered a traditional gamosa along with a written note wishing good health. The recipients were reportedly pleasantly surprised at such a gesture of goodwill coming from the cultural forum. All of them expressed their pleasure and satisfaction and also opined that such actions of thanksgiving would inspire the youth to take similar initiatives of gratitude in the ensuing days.
