Off-Season Diwali, Holi In BJP Assam Pradesh Office

GUWAHATI: Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan in Guwahati, the headquarters of the BJP Assam Pradesh, celebrated off-season Diwali with crackers and Holi with colours since the morning on Thursday. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s visit to the party head office in the evening added to the festivity that knew no bounds.

In fact, the party was fully equipped for such a festivity since Wednesday as it was elated over the exit poll predictions and its own assessment that came true.

Addressing the media and party workers at the party office, Sonowal thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah for the victory of the NDA. “A good deed always pays. The people voted for the BJP with the good faith that a government of the party will continue to do what it did in the past five years,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the festivity in the party office scaled newer heights when State party president Ranjit Kumar Dass visited it at noon. He was welcomed by party office-bearers at the party office.

Addressing the party members, Dass said: “It’s a historic win that has entrusted us with new responsibilities. We need to work harder with more dedication. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s shrewdness and work culture have been accepted by voters. The three-year rule of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in the State and NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma’s organizational acumen has much to do in the win.”

Dass also thanked the party’s three lakh page in-charges, around 25,000 booth committees, district committees and mandal committees for the win.

In two separate letters, Dass congratulated both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah for the historic win of the party.
