OKDISCD aid for ailing Dr Amalendu Guha

GUWAHATI, April 24: A team of the academic staff of Omeo Kumar Das Institute of Social Change and Development (OKDISCD) led by its Director visited City’s Arya Hospital on Tuesday to take stock of the health of Prof Amalendu Guha, an eminent historian and social scientist of the region, who has been admitted in a serious condition in the hospital, stated a press release.  

The Institute, in recognition of the contributions of Prof. Guha has taken the honour and privilege of offering a token fincial aid of Rs One Lakh and handed over the cheque to his wife Anima Guha.  It may be mentioned that Prof. Guha has played a very important role in establishing the Institute as well as in its growth in various capacity including that of being a member of the maging committee. As part of its Silver Jubilee celebrations, the Institute will also organise a lecture on the theme of the life and contributions of Prof. Guha in the coming days.

However, at this juncture, all the members of the Institute both academic and administrative wish a speedy recovery of the renowned academician.
