Accused of molestation case arrested at Sapekhati, Assam

JOYSAGAR, July 17: The Sapekhati Police arrested a shopkeeper of Helangmora village under Sapekhati PS on Monday for allegedly molesting a physically challenged minor girl last Friday. The accused said that when the girl came to his shop to buy some goods in the afternoon, no other person was present in the shop. Taking advantage of the situation, he allegedly molested the girl. The girl’s family members lodged an FIR in Sapekhati PS following which the shopkeeper, identified as Nani Gopal Dutta (56), was arrested by the police. A case has been registered in this connection and Nani Gopal appeared before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Sonari on Tuesday.
