One arrested for taking bribe

GUWAHATI, April 22:  Based on a written complaint, a team of officials from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti corruption, Assam from Guwahati arrested one Sameer Das( 50), resident of Nagaon and posted as Town Laat Mandal of Lanka Revenue Circle in Hojai district red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 6,500 on Saturday from his office at Lanka. The accused had allegedly demanded the amount from the complainant for land record related works. He shall be produced before special court at Guwahati tomorrow.
