One electrocuted in city

SHILLONG, Apr 24: A person lost his life after being electrocuted at the Jail Road area in Shillong. According to sources, his body was taken from the spot by police around 7.30 am on Tuesday morning. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Ajay Chettri, a resident of Garikhana, who was working in a tourist sumo stand at Police Bazaar area. The police have confirmed the reports and informed that his mother has come forward to claim the body. While police said that the area was properly fenced, the claim of the eyewitnesses did not match with the police. “The incident can be termed as the negligence of the authorities concerned,” said an eyewitness.
