One injured in suspected Bangladeshis' attack

SHILLONG, June 10: One person was seriously injured when some suspected Bangladeshi tiols shot at him at Bakli village near the Indo-Bangla intertiol border in South West Khasi Hills district on Thursday. Speaking to The Sentinel, South West Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, HG Lyngdoh said that the incident took place at around 7:15 PM when the victim, Gelbert M Marak who hails from Bakli village was returning home on a bike. He was stopped by some unknown Bangladeshis who were trying to rob him. “When he maged to run away, he was shot with small arms and the bullet hit his right arm in which he was seriously injured,” the SP said, adding that the injured person was referred to Civil Hospital, Shillong for treatment. Lyngdoh said that the case has been registered and the investigation is going on.
