Doomdooma, April 23: Sitanand Sonowal (70) of Lachit Nagar, Rupaisiding died in a road mishap on Sunday when the bicycle he was riding was knocked down by a speeding motorbike (AS 23 B6203) at the junction point of NH-37 and the road leading to Lachit Nagar. He was rushed to the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh in a precarious condition but he succumbed to his injuries on the way. The two bike riders allegedly fled the spot after leaving their motorbike behind when the police chased them. According to the police, the owner of the motorbike is Gopal Kalita of Talap Balibazar.
