One killed, three injured in road mishaps

SHILLONG, Jan 12: One person died on the spot and two others sustained injuries when the Maruti van (AS-11H-2405) they were traveling collided with a truck (AS-01DC-1695) on Shillong by-pass at Madan Umroi under Umsning Block in Ri Bhoi District today at 5.56 am.

The two injured, Amir Udin Laskal (24) and Iqbal Hussain (29) were immediately shifted to Bhoirymbong CHC and then to Shillong Civil Hospital.

In another accident, a person seriously injured when the Maruti car (ML04B –58921) he was travelling hit a truck (ML-04C- 1189) from behind.

The incident occurred at Wapung under Khliehriat Block, East Jaintia Hills on Monday at 10.43 pm. The victim identified as Kynthem Phawa (17) was shifted to Jowai Civil Hospital.
