One NDFB(S), 2 MULTA rebels bbed

KOKRAJHAR, MAY 1: In two separate operations conducted by Army and Police, an NDFB(S) rebel and two MULTA militants were apprehended in Kokrajhar and Dhubri today.

 Army sources said based on specific intelligence input, the NDFB(S) cadre was apprehended from Maiguri area in Kokrajhar district. The rebel has been identified as Jwngdao Basumatary who has been operating with the outfit for the last one and half years. One 9 mm factory made pistol, one magazine and three rounds of  ammunition were recovered from his possession during the operation. In another operation, Army and Police apprehended two MULTA cadres from Fakirganj in Dhubri district. Both the rebels  were involved in kidpping and extortion activities.  Two 9 mm country made pistols, live ammunition and other war like stores were recovered during the operation. The apprehensions where to deter the various terrorist organisations in the area to carry out their subversive activities, said the Army sources.
