Opposition breached Assembly sanctity: Tuki

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

Itagar, March 9: Aruchal Pradesh Chief Minister bam Tuki today criticized the Opposition BJP for breaching the sanctity of the assembly by staging walkout during the discussion on Vote-on-Account.

“Aruchal is known as a symbol of democracy tiolly but the opposition has breached its sanctity,” Tuki said in the assembly.

He alleged that the opposition members were not behaving like elected members but working under somebody’s direction. “Many of the BJP MLAs are senior members of the house and the matter could be resolved through healthy debates but not the like the way they (BJP members) exhibited by staging walkout and deciding to boycott the rest of the session,” he said.

The members of the opposition bench behaved in such a way that they want to take the role of information commission under the RTI Act and the role of Accountant General, Tuki argued.

“The BJP members have staged the drama with a political motive which is contrary to the role of the opposition,” he added. The chief minister also alleged that the opposition’s intention was not to ask question but to divert people’s attention.
