Out of 45 candidates, 2 nominations rejected in Assam for First Phase poll, One adjourned

Guwahati: Scrutiny of nominations for the first phase of the Lok Sabha Constituencies came to an end on Tuesday.

In Tezpur, out of 10 candidates, 2 nominations have been rejected after scrutiny by the election officials, The rejected nominations are:

In Kaliabor, all 7 candidates found valid.

Similarly, in both Jorhat and Dibrugarh, all the eight candidates were found valid after the scrutiny process.

Meanwhile, from Lakhimpur Lok Sabha Constituency, out of 12 candidates, 1 candidate’s nomination has been adjourned:

Anil Borgohain (Indian National Congress) – Adjourned till 5:00 pm on 27.3.2019.

His nomination will be accepted/ rejected after completion of Scrutiny Process.

It may be mentioned that the general election in Assam will be held in 3 phases – April 11, April 18 and April 23, 2019.
