Pakistani Army Humiliates Own Soldier, Sikh Personnel Forced to Remove Turban and Pulled By Hair!

In an audacious move that has shocked and brought to shame all code of conduct of defence forces, Pakistan’s first ever Sikh Police officer Gulab Singh Shaheen has been ousted from his house along with his children and wife by the officials of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) of Pakistan. The ETPB is the parent body of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC).

The official claimed that he has been treated in the most disrespectful manner possible as he was forced to remove his turban and was pulled by the hair.

The Sikh officer was forcibly ousted from his house in Lahore’s Dera Chahal. In an interview with ANI, Singh said, “Since 1947, my family has been staying in Pakistan. Even after the riots, we did not leave Pakistan. Now, we are being forced to leave. My house is sealed with all belongings including my slippers inside. Even this 'patka' on my head is an old rag which I just wrapped. I was harassed, beaten and my faith was disrespected”.

In a video that is doing rounds on the social media, Singh has urged people to share the post so that people become aware of the situation. Singh began his addressal with the Sikh salutation,”Wahe Guruji da Khalsa, Wahe Guruji di Fateh” and goes on to describe the atrocities meted out towards him and his family.

The nefarious act by Pakistan has received the deserved castigation. Indian Sikh leader Majinder Singh Sirsa has reprimanded Pakistan over this incident and said that people of India stand in solidarity with Singh.

Singh in an interview with Times of India Singh has alleged that this incident happened because he had revealed the wrongdoings of the PSGPC president Tara Singh along with Indian Sikh fugitives who had collected donations of Rs 10 to Rs 15 crore from the Sikhs of UK, USA, Canada etc on the name of development of Bebe Nanki Gurdwara but didn’t spend a single penny.

According to India Today reports, Singh had also filed a case against Syed Asif Akhtar Hashmi, the then chairman of ETPB, in the year 2011 for illegally selling Gurudwara property.

There is nothing new about atrocities carried out against minorities in Pakistan, but by treating their own officials in such a lowly manner, Pakistan has drawn condemnation to itself.
