Pakistan’s flag, Imran Khan’s effigy burnt

LAKHIMPUR: Protests against the dastardly act of killing 44 CRPF jawans in Pulwama district of South Kashmir on Thursday by Pakistan backed Jaish-e-Mahammad (JeM), continued in Lakhimpur. The activists of the Lakhimpur district unit of Rashtriya Bajrang Dal bunt the Pakistan flag and the effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at Main Chariali of North Lakhimpur town on Saturday evening. The protesters shouted slogans against Pakistan and condemned the terrorist organization for the attack on the innocent jawans. They vehemently slammed the Pakistan Prime Minister for Pakistan’s undue support to terrorist organizations.

On the other hand, the organizations and institutions across Lakhimpur paid deep homage to the martyred jawans on Saturday too. Ashray Mahila Samaj of North Lakhimpur lit earthen lamps at the Main Chariali of the town praying for the eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyred jawans and recovery of the injured.

Gossaigaon: Tributes were paid in different parts of Gossaigaon subdivision on Saturday evening to the CRPF jawans who lost their lives in the Pulwama terrorist attack. In a programme at Dingdinga market, the people of the area gathered together to pay tribute to the martyrs and they even burnt the effigies of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. In another programme at Srirampur, various organizations like All BTC Bengali Yuba Students’ Federation, Srirampur Yuba Sangha, Simultapu Anchalik AAMSU, Hari Mandir committee, and Srirampur Block BPF committee jointly paid tribute to the martyrs. National Liberation Front of Bengali also organized a torchlight rally at Howriapet market to pay tribute. Simultaneously, the Gossaigaon district BPF committee along with the local people also organized a torchlight rally followed by floral tribute to the martyrs of the Pulawama terror attack.
