Panbazar Police arrests burglars, recover stolen cash

GUWAHATI: The Panbazar police arrested one Nuur Hussain allegedly for looting a sum of Rs 6 lakh along with some gold ornaments and mobile phones. According to a police source, the cash and other valuables were owned by one Amir Mohammed who has been staying in a rent house located at Danish Road, Lakhtokia. Some burglars had looted the valuables and cash on November 13. Following the incident, Amir Mohammed lodged an FIR at Panbazar police station and stressed his suspicion upon the domestic worker, Ali Hussain. Following the complaint, the Panbazar police detained Ali Hussain’s friend Nuur Hussain for interrogation. Following Nuur Hussain’s confession, the police raided Ali Hussain’s house located at Orang in which a sum of Rs 1 lakh 9 thousand in cash was recovered. However, ever since the incident, mastermind of the looting Ali Hussain has been absconding.
