Pangin residents restore power transmission

Itagar, July 23: The residents of Pangin under the active initiation of Siang DC Rahul Singh have registered a record of its own kind by voluntarily coming out and restoring the power transmission line between Yembung and Pangin.

It is worth mentioning here that the said power transmission was disrupted for a long time and even after the restoration of Yembung Hydel three months ago, the department concerned was not able transmit supply to Pangin as two poles were totally damaged due to road construction (Trans Aruchal Highway) and landslides.

As per reports the power department had failed to restore the system for last three months due to alleged paucity of government funds.

Praying serious attention, DC Singh had mobilized the people including, officers and staffs of various departments, local leaders and villagers to conduct a joint social service in the area. With the help of power department they successfully erected two new poles without any fincial assistance and made through the transmission line after hours of toiling.  Meanwhile, the DC while appreciating the people for their spirit has asked them to unite all the time and assured to render all possible help to the power department officials to carry out their duties to mitigate the sufferings of the people, an official release informed here today.
