Dibrugarh, May 18: Even after having reported about the pathetic condition of NH 37 here quite many times, the situation remains as grim as before. On the contrary, new potholes have started emerging, with small and big depressions scattered along the road. Areas like Panchali are the latest entry to the unpopular list of regions being adjacent to a dilapidated National Highway. Like other areas of the town including Naliapool and Laluka Gaon, the condition of NH 37 has gone bad in Panchali too.
Although the situation is still under control with only a few potholes being developed, it could very well spiral out of control if the problem isn’t nipped in the bud. What appears surprising to the common man here is that the authority wasn’t showing adequate response to the road condition. They are finding it hard to understand as to how the government can promote the Bogibeel project with such gusto on the one hand, and be least bothered about something as basic as road infrastructure.
