SHILLONG, April 22: The Meghalaya Police has informed that they have found a few leads into the recent incident of petrol bomb attack at the residence of Patricia Mukhim, Editor of The Shillong Times at Umpling, Shillong.
It may be recalled that on April 17, at around 8.30pm, two unidentified persons in masks on a motor bike hurled a petrol bomb at Mukhim’s residence.
Speaking to The Sentinel on Sunday, Supritendent of Police, East Khasi district, Davis N Marak said, “We have found new leads into the case but we have not been able to pin point the exact people involved in the incident.”
He informed that the police will be following up on the new leads which they have received.
Marak said the police will continue to investigate the case and will not rest until the culprits are caught and punished as per the law.
Significantly, on April 19, the Shillong Press Club (SPC) along with journalists from across the State and other parts of the country took out a silent march in the capital city of Shillong to protest against the petrol bomb attack at the residence of Patricia Mukhim.
The SPC had also urged the concern authorities to take up the matter seriously and hunt down the culprits immediately so that action can be taken against them.
