People can go for Online correction of errors in draft NRC

GUWAHATI: Want to get spelling error/errors in your name appeared in the complete draft NRC corrected? You can correct it online even as the offline phase of such correction is underway. To correct the error/errors online you need to visit NRC’s official website www.nrcassam.nic.in, fill the prescribed form available there and get the correction done.

The NRC authority has taken a tentative date of December 5, 2018 for correction of spelling errors in the complete draft NRC online. However, the NRC authority has not yet announced as to till when the phase of correction of errors in the complete draft NRC will continue.

The complete draft NRC published on July 30, 2018 is littered with errors in spellings, especially those written in Assamese. The offline correction of such errors in names is already underway. In this process, one has to go to his/her NRC seva kendra, fill the prescribed form and get his/her name corrected. Recognizing the urgency of the matter, the NRC authority is now going to make the option of such correction online as well.
