 OUR CORRESPONDENT

SILCHAR, Dec 27: BJP leader and party’s Assam in-charge Mahendra Singh today said here that the BJP will not rest till the Tarun Gogoi led Congress is thrown out of Assam.

“Lack of power and employment opportunities for the youth are among the major issues plaguing the state. The Congress led state government is a complete failure. During the tenure of Atal Bihari Vajpayee led NDA Government in the Centre, the East-West Corridor project connecting Silchar with Saurashtra was started, but the project is yet to be completed due to the bottlenecks and unnecessary interference of the state government,” Singh said addressing a public meeting here today.

He said rendra Modi led NDA Government has launched a number of welfare projects for the people of India.

“The BJP believes in the policy of inclusive welfare irrespective of caste, creed and religion while Congress believes in the policy of divide and rule. BJP has sanctioned the highest amount of grants for the welfare of Assam in the past one year. But, Assam continues to remain the most backward region of the country due to Congress misrule,” he said adding, “All the funds sanctioned for public welfare have been under public glare due to their misuse.”

He added that it was due to the initiative of Modi Government that the Silchar-Lumding BG conversion could be completed.
