From a Correspondent

GAON (HAIBORGAON), October 20: State Public Health, Food and Civil Supply Minister Rihan Daimary on Thursday visited gaon district for the first time after becoming minister, and took part in separate meetings of departmental officials held at the conference hall of the gaon Deputy Commissioner’s office.

Daimary took departmental feedback from the district heads of the departments concerned as well as from the Deputy Commissioner of gaon and sorted out all the demerits which had paralyzed the smooth functioning of governmental schemes under the departments concerned. Daimary was highly upset after getting poor feedback from DDS of gaon Food and Civil Supply.

Interestingly, the DDS even could not provide the total number of government approved agents of the district and completely failed to screen the exact picture and strength of the gaon Food and Civil Supply department. During his visit, Daimary, in an interaction with local media persons in gaon, said that the State Government had already decided to provide fluoride free and arsenic free water to all sections of people of the State. He further added that the department had already detected the areas where arsenic and fluoride were available.

On the other hand, in reply to a question on price hike of essential commodities,  Daimary said the government had been trying to control the prices of essential commodities but some businessmen through unfair means try to show scarcity and increase the prices of the commodities.

“But our government will never provide such opportunities to them and will act against businessmen who resort to unfair means,” Daimary added. During his visit to gaon, MLAs like Rupak Sarma, Nurul Hoda and Aminul Islam accompanied him.
