Pilot project to impart education with innovative ideas launched in Dhubri

DHUBRI: Abhyudaya —a pilot project to impart education to class VIII students with innovative ideas and technology, was formally inaugurated by Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Anant Lal Gyani recently.

Low learning outcome, teacher-pupil ratio not satisfactory, lack of subject specialist teachers, poor attendance of students, apprehension of exams due to detention policy and significant drop out rate - are some of the reasons that prompted Dhubri district administration to chalk out a well-planned project called Abhyudaya to upgrade the standard of education.

Under this Abhyudaya, a software in Assamese was developed to impart education among the Class VIII students of selected 10 schools of Dhubri district with innovative ideas backed by modern technology of education.

The 10 schools selected under this pilot project are Satrasal Higher Secondary School, Kachakhana Higher Secondary School, Dhepdhepi Higher Secondary School, P.C. An institution, Dhubri Govt Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Dhubri Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Bangalipara Middle English Madrasa, Borkanda Pupils’ Academy, Raniganj Higher Secondary School, and Chapor Higher Secondary School.

A source in the education department informed that three subjects –Mathematics, General Science and Social Science - were chosen for imparting education.

In a recent meeting held in DC conference Hall to launch the pilot project, Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani appealed to all the heads and teachers of the 10 schools to extend all cooperation to make this project a success by putting all efforts together and “work as a team”.

Earlier, officials of Eckovation Solution of New Delhi, which is implementing the project, spoke on the objective and various stages of implementation of the project.
