Piyush Mordia Takes Charge As Inspector General of BSF, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Piyush Mordia, IPS, took over the charge of Inspector General of Border Security Force, Guwahati Frontier from Sh Rakesh Aggarwal, IPS, IG on March 23, 2019.

Born on July 1970 in Ajmer, Rajasthan, Piyush Mordia did his MBA in Finance. Mordia belongs to the 1998 batch of the Indian Police Service and was allotted the Uttar Pradesh Cadre. Piyush Mordia in his early days in the Indian Police Service has served in various positions in Uttar Pradesh. Subsequently, he joined BSF and served as DIG BSF SHQ Bikaner then in Force Head Quarter New Delhi as DIG Confidential.

As per a press release, Piyush Mordia has been decorated with President Police Medal for Meritorious Service. He is conferred with several Director General Commendation Roll. After assuming charge, he emphasised upon the necessity of effective Border Management to prevent trans-border crimes and strengthening of cordial relations between two Border Guarding Forces. He also stressed to focus upon imperative of welfare of troops and willed to strive towards winning heart and mind of Border populous while accomplishing assigned task impeccably.
