Platinum jubilee celebration at Nowgong College

NAGAON, July 10: The organizing committee of the platinum jubilee celebration of Nowgong College is gearing up for the opening ceremony from August 7 with a five-day long programme at the college premises. The president of the organizing committee and local MLA Rupak Sarma on Monday held a press conference at the teachers’ common room of Nowgong College and briefed about the entire agenda of the opening ceremony of the platinum jubilee celebration. Governor Prof Jagadish Mukhi, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, State Education Minister Siddartha Bhattacharya, State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister for State for Railways Rajen Gohain have assured to be present in the opening ceremony of the platinum jubilee celebration. The office of the President of India is yet to confirm the presence of the President at the function, said MLA Rupak Sarma.
