Platinum jubilee of Radha Kanta Phukan High School concludes

GAURISAGAR, March 22: The three-day long platinum jubilee of Charing Radha Kanta Phukan  High School successfully concluded on Sunday.

On the concluding day, a cultural programme was held in fond memory of Saruram Saikia, Upen Bhuyan, Likhedhar Kakoty and Anup Gogoi. In the programme ethnic groups performs  various dances. Besides, the students of the school demonstrated gayan-bayan, diha am, marriage customs of Assamese society and creative dance. Later an open session was held under the chairmanship of Dr Bhula Gogoi, president of the platinum jubilee celebration committee.

The dignitaries who attended the  meeting were Dr Prabhat Katoky, former senior scientist, North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST), Jorhat, Chandra Kamal Hazarika, former Principal, Swahid Moniram Dewan College, Charing, Dr Durga Prasad Khanikar, former Professor, Assam Agriculture University (AAU), Jorhat, Devajit Phukan, Prasanta Phukan, former Headmasters of the school, Tuwaram Khanikor, former Professor, SMD College, Charing, educationist Makhan Gogoi, Dr Prakash Katoky, former Principal, Sibsagar College, Prodip Hazarika, Principal, Jhanji Higher Secondary School  and  Dr Debabrat Khanikor, Principal, Sopur College. The meeting was iugurated by Pabitra Pran Bhattacharyya, Headmaster, Kaloogaon Girls' High School.
