Bongaigaon, June 17: The Prime Minister’s Ujjala Yoja was iugurated on Saturday in Basugaon town by the Chirang district administration. State Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma was present on this occasion and distributed free LPG connection to the people living below poverty line. Addressing the gathering, Brahma said that though the Central Government’s scheme had been iugurated previously in other parts of India, it was delayed here due to incompletion of NRC. “Now we are distributing free LPG on the basis of census of 2011. It will continue till 2019 phase by phase,” she said. The Chirang Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police and many others were present at the function.
