MERAPANI, Feb 26: To create a new class of poets among the youth and to create interest in poetry, a poet summit was held recently in the auditorium of Ujjal Balya Bhavan Public School. This poet summit was organized by Golaghat Zila Kabi Sanmilan with the cooperation of Bonful, a noted organization of Jamuguri, and teachers of the school. The programme started with chorus presented by the girl students of the school. Partha Protim Saikia, the secretary of the Sanmilan, and Rupali Gohain Bora, the Principal of the school delivered the welcome speech. About 17 students and teachers Junmoni Dutta and Sangeeta Changmai recited self-composed poem. Jourlist Dipak Bora spoke about old and modern poetry. More than 30 guardians and distinguished poets Ritubastav Hazarika and Rajumoni Bezboruah attended the programme.
