Police Commemoration Day observed in Bokajan

Bokajan: Along with the rest of the country, the CRPF Group Centre, Khatkhati observed Police Commemoration Day in the memories of martyrs who had sacrificed their life in the line of duty. Every year, the CRPF observes this commemoration day to pay homage to the patrolling party of CRPF who were ambushed by Chinese army at Ladakh on October 21, 1959.

On this occasion, Sh. Shahnawaz Khan, DIGP, GC Khatkhati paid homage by observing a two-minute silence in honour of the martyrs. Several events followed which included the honouring of family members of the martyrs. Layanti Das, wife of Saheed Head Constable Udheshwar Das of 118 Bn., Usha Rahi Das, wife of Saheed Constable Rajendra Nath Das of 39 Bn. and Aruna Pachani, mother of Saheed Constable Pranjal Pachani of 208 CoBRA Bn were honoured with ‘NAMAN Pustak’ by DIGP Khan. Naman Pustak is published to honour and commemorate martyrs of CRPF jawans who laid down their lives while guarding the national frontiers. The martyrs family members were also presented with a ‘Plaque’ by the DIGP. Meanwhile in the evening, a band display was organised at Khatkhati shopping complex premises in presence of DIGP Sh. Shahnawaz Khan, Sh. Swetanka Mishra, IPS, SDPO Bokajan, CRPF personnel, family members and a host of other dignitaries.
