Police detain 30 protesters of Chutia Students' Union & Satra Mukti Sangram Samiti in Golaghat

Sarupathar: At least 30 protesters of the Chutia Students' Union and the Satra Mukti Sangram Samiti were detained by Sarupathar Police for rail blockade at Sarupathar Railway Station under Dhansiri Subdivision.

As per a report, the Chutia Students' Union, the Satra Mukti Sangram Samiti including various organization staged the rail blockade demanding an immediate withdrawal of the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The bodies blocked 15910 Avadh Assam Express Train today.

It may also be mentioned that State Secretary, Mohen Bora of Chutia Students' Union and the State Secretary Bidyut Saikia of Satra Mukti Sangram Samiti (SMSS) were also present in the protest.
