Police foil UTP's escape plan

ITAGAR, Feb 26: msai police foiled an escape attempt of under trial prisoners who trying to create a hole in the toilet wall of the cell where they were lodged in.

The attempt of 13 prisoners was foiled yesterday morning around 1. 26 am when the sentry was alerted about 13 UTPs making a hole in the toilet wall using the handle of the toilet brush. The UTPs were able to make a small hole before being caught by the sentry. Police outpost in charge, inspector Thomas Pertin informed that one of the UTPs had earlier been rearrested from Cheni after having fled from the same lock up in 2013. The other UTPs of the cell included members of the now defunct United People’s Democratic Front which once created havoc in the area with abductions and extortions.

During 2013 18 UTPs have escaped after drilling a hole in the wall of the cell they were lodged in.
