'Police have found lead into bus passenger abduction'

SHILLONG, Oct 5: The Police admitted that clues relating to alleged abduction of bus passengers from a Shallang bound bus are slowly turning out to be true. Well placed source told The Sentinel that six passengers who were on board of the bus that left Dudhnoi on the fateful day are understood to have been abducted by militants belonging to the Achik Mangatrik Elite Force (AMEF from)Wageasi, North Garo Hills  last Monday. Interestingly, the family members of the missing persons have not lodged any FIR so far. The only complaint was a suo motto FIR lodged by North Garo Hills police based on the information provided by the driver of the bus who reported to them a day after the incident took place. One of the victim is the conductor of the bus. Sources said that intelligence inputs suggests involvement of an AMEF leader, Mitchrang as the mastermind of behind the series of crimes along the area. The Superintendent of Police North Garo Hills Ramesh Singh conceded to the reported version of kidpping. However, he said that the forces are acting on their own intelligence inputs since none of the family members of the reported missing people have come forward to complaint or disclosed anything about the incident.

North Garo Hills is an AMEF stronghold and it has been indulging in act of terrors in many of the vulnerable villages.
