Police official caught taking bribe

BOKO, April 25: Anti-corruption sleuths arrested Sub-Inspector Bakul Chetia while taking bribe of Rs 10,000 from bajyoti Kalita. Bakul Chetia had allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from bajyoti Kalita for an accident case that took place on April 15 involving a tractor. Owner of the car, bajyoti Kalita, a businessman, approached Boko Police Station for the car, but Bakul Chetia demanded Rs 50,000 for the car.

Then bajyoti Kalita complained to the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday and filly Sub-Inspector Bakul Chetia was caught red-handed taking bribe. Tuleswar Rabha,  a local resident said that police officials of Boko Police Station often took bribe and demanded dismissal of all corrupt officials from Boko Police Station.
