Police Sub-inspector Dies in Encounter with Murder Accused in Haryana

Guwahati: An encounter in Haryana between police and a murder accused led to the killing of Police Sub-Inspector. The incident took place in Haryana’s Rewari's Dharuhera on Thursday night. However, the murder accused is arrested on the spot by police.

Sub-inspector Crime Brunch SI Ranbir Singh, 49, following a tip-off, had chased the murder suspect Naresh on Dharuhera-Bhiwadi Road around 9:30 p.m. Singh had accompanied his team of cops and it is then when the accused opened fire at them. The bullets hit Singh and led to fatal injuries. Although he was taken to the hospital right away but was declared brought dead by the doctors.

The murder accused Naresh was caught on the spot by the police and arrested. He will be produced in the court on Friday.

Superintendent of Police, Rewari, Rahul Sharma, said that Naresh, who hails from Kharkhara village, is accused of killing a fellow villager running a dhaba in Dhaurhera on October 31. In this connection, Naresh was a wanted and police had been looking for him. Sharma stated, “He is involved in three cases of murder and attempt to murder. SI Ranbir had arrested him earlier as well.”
