Poll officials leave for Ampati

SHILLONG, May 26: Amidst thunderstorm and heavy downpour, polling personnel for the by election to the 53 Ampati (ST) Legislative Assembly Constituency made way for their respective polling stations on the first day of movement today from Ampati.

The 53 Ampati (ST) LAC has altogether thirty nine polling stations and on the first day, polling parties for the farthest twenty one polling stations were deployed. Polling parties for the remaining eighteen polling stations will make their movement on May 27.

It may be mentioned that out of the thirty nine polling stations six have been classified as vulnerable due to various reasons including group clashes, interstate border areas, elephant infestation and remoteness.
