Guwahati: Polling officials receive EVMs and VVPATs for Guwahati Lok Sabha Election at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre, Guwahati on Monday.

As per reports, Polling Officials were seen proceeding towards polling centres with EVMs and VVPATs etc. ahead of the third phase of Lok Sabha Election in Guwahati which will go to polls in the third phase on tomorrow morning 7 am onwards.

It is to be noted that Maniram Dewan Trade Centre will be used as the strong room by the Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration.

Gauhati Lok Sabha constituency is composed of the following assembly segments: Dudhnai (ST), Boko (SC), Chaygaon, Palasbari, Jalukbari, Dispur, Guwahati East, Guwahati West, Hajo and Barkhetry.

It may be mentioned that around 17 candidates have filed their nominations for Guwahati Lok Sabha seat, 13 from Barpeta, 9 from Kokrajhar and 15 from Dhubri constituencies.

Top contenders for Guwahati Lok Sabha seat are former Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) Mayor Queen Oja and film and Bobbeeta Sharma of the Congress Party.

Also, Independent candidates like Upamanyu Hazarika and Junmoni Devi Khaund also emerged as prominent faces in this Lok Sabha election.
