Poor construction work of proposed rengi-ltali road rued

GAON (HAIBORGAON), Feb 5: The ongoing construction of the proposed State Highway (III) road from rengi via Morigaon to gaon-ltali under World Bank fund is allegedly poor and highly questioble. The construction work of the proposed road is not only poor but also proceeding at a sil’s pace. As per allegation, the quality of metals, sand gravel and earth-filling work in the entire portion is allegedly poor and not up to the mark.

Regarding this allegation, the Executive Engineer of gaon State Road Division, Sushil Borbora, in an interaction with this correspondent stated that as per directives of the department, the entire work was entrusted to a supervision consultant agency like URS Scoot Wilson India Private Ltd to supervise the entire work, including the preparation of bill for the contractor. Hence there was nothing to do from the end of the Executive Engineer except payment of the bill of the contractors.
