Poor Drainage System

Poor Drainage System

I am a resident of Juripar, which is opposite to Kalakshetra. The drainage system in our locality leaves much to be desired. The present drainage system is so defective that a good shower would create a collection of small lakes and pools in the whole area. The clogging of rain-water in some parts of the city becomes as deep as three feet. Consequently, the whole traffic is dislocated and life comes to a grinding halt during the rainy season.

It is sad to state that the drainage system in my area is very poor and some of the pipelines of this area are also not done. We are facing a severe problem. These overflowing drains give out bad odour and lead to the growth of mosquitoes which may result in malaria. The matter has to be dealt with urgency as it spoils the whole environment and sanity of the place where we live. It is my humble request to the concerned authority to look into the matter with utmost urgency.

Candid decision

British Prime Minister Theresa May urged her European Union counterparts to be patient with US President Dold Trump as the continent’s leaders voiced their concern about the newly elected leader. We believe that Prime Minister May’s decision of urging her European counterparts has evoked her diplomatic talent. The reason why men think that woman are not capable of passing orders or leading people is that from a tender age, the setting around a girl leads her to believe that she has to spend a life bound to her family. This can be changed only if educatiol reforms are brought in, especially when girls are young. It is time we stopped encouraging a patriarchal set-up.

Prices of medicines

We note with concern about the repeated lie told by the central leadership on a sensitive issue like bringing down the price of medicines. In fact, the promise of bringing down the prices of medicine was made by no other a person than the Union Health Minister about two years back. I know it for certain that prices of medicine also keep galloping simultaneously along with the price of the essential commodities. I argued with the owner of a Pharmacy, saying that what Congress could not do now BJP is doing. Afterwards the owner commented sarcastically, BJP is like empty vessel sounds much. Recently, the Union budget was placed in parliament by Arun Jaitley, the Fince minister and among myriad of bonzas declared bringing down the price of medicine is one. It lies in the realm of speculation, whether or not in reality the prices of medicine will come down.
